Undoubtedly the most famous taxi site on the Internet is Ultimate Taxi in Aspen, Colorado. Featured in numerous newscasts, Ultimate Taxi is a mobile multimedia studio driven by Jon Barnes.
Barnes tools around the Aspen area with a laptop computer, Kodak DC-50 Digital Camera, Nokia cellular phone and a wireless modem in his cab (hey, watch the road, buddy). All of this gear is so that he can entertain visitors and post diary photos and updates to this web station while he shuttles people around town. (Why? Because he can.) You can catch a sunset taxi view here or look out the front window or just check out the celebs who have been taken for a ride (including Dudley Moore, Ringo Starr, Clint Eastwood, Peter Frampton and Hunter S. Thompson).
Barnes offers jokes, visitor e-mail and other digital gimcracks at the site, When I checked in, he'd just uploaded a photograph of seven young women crammed into the backseat of the car. It's a rambling, wacky, psychedelic ride, but worth stopping by just so that you can say you've been there, done that.
